When did you get started online? Did you start off with a website
right away?
For me, it was a case of which comes
first, the chicken or the egg. I recognized the importance of having
an online presence but at the same time I required content to show,
Luckily my website http://REFUZE.com
had already been drawing an increasing amount of traffic for the
prior year, so I would showcase my efforts there until I had enough
performance material for the http://tonykates.com
site to stand alone. Having your own website in my opinion is paramount
for your success. In today's age, it is absolutely necessary to
show people your work via the net. The internet works for you 24/7
and finacially speaking its the most affordable means of advertisement
along with the fact there is no limit to depth you wish to create
with it.
Do you use any casting call type
websites to look for acting jobs?
At this point through networking, I amable to gain most of
my work by word of mouth, but on occasion I will still browse the
local listings for shorts or interesting projects that I can fit
in between other work to continue to grow my network circle as well
as grow as an actor. You learn from being in front of the camera,
so use what ever method offers you that opportunity the most.
Do people contact you more
through the internet or through an agent/manager?
Currently I am most contacted directly
through an association of some sort, but I do provide contact information
on my website and have been contacted there as well. I am currently
in search for a manager to expand my efforts and opportunities.
I am contactable by email tonykates@gmail.com.
