When did you start your business
and did you go online with it immediately? Adam & Jan : Phantom Creations is something we've
had on the back burner for some time now. It wasn't until we both
left our jobs in the Corporate world that we were able to focus
our time on our creative freelance projects. Since we already had
in mind what we wanted and needed, we were able to start the company
at the beginning of August 08. We went online a couple of weeks
after becoming official.
What avenues are you exploring online
to gain exposure for your services? Adam & Jan : We have pages on Myspace, Facebook,
YouTube, and were guests on Toy Break, which is a weekly podcast
that our friends at October Toys produce.
Has MySpace brought you any clients
to work with? Adam & Jan : We have found quite a few clients through
our myspace page. Myspace has been our best outlet tool for promoting
projects (for instance we'll be hosting future art shows that we
will promote online). We were also able to do a great promotion
for our friends at TAPROOT when they released their CD this past
summer.
Do you have a favorite internet
comedy website? Adam & Jan : We love everyone's favorite Ninja (askaninja.
com) so we try to live by his advice to life's notorious questions
(or in some cases it's best to just do the opposite).
Happy New Year! Still looking for a fun New Year’s Resolution? One of our resolutions this year is to support other creative folks who are living their dream. We would encourage you to add this to your resolutions list as well.
This could be as simple as attending an art show or play. Or, if you are strapped for time support an independent filmmaker who has a project needing financial backing (who knows you may even end up with a producer credit or copy of the finished film on DVD).
Check out the community section in your paper and see what other fun ways you can support the arts. We wish you a very successful and enjoyable 2012!
It’s that time of year again. Time to gather up the family and friends for a good old 4th of July celebration BBQ. What goes great with BBQ? Pie. Here is our favorite ‘easy as pie’ recipe for a yummy Red, White, and Blue pie.
What you’ll need: (1) French Vanilla Pudding/Pie Mix, (1) 9in Graham Cracker Crust (usually found in the baking aisle), milk, (1) tub of Cool Whip, strawberries, and blueberries.
Prepare the pudding as suggested for ‘pie mix’ on the box. Pour blend into the crust and keep in the fridge until set. The pie should set in a couple of hours, but it’s better if you can keep it in the fridge overnight. You can add the Cool Whip before it sets, however sometimes in doing so the cream will run. We would suggest waiting until you’re ready to serve the pie before adding the Cool Whip and berries. Cut the strawberries in half and place them, along with the blueberries, around the edge of the crust to decorate. Serve and enjoy.
A night of pirate songs to celebrate James who loved sharing his own music with the world. James was a kind man who never knew a stranger and called everyone a friend. He will be greatly missed.
