A Talk With An Actor Who Has An Innate Desire To Evoke Emotions

Trey Moore is an actor, model and a writer who has been on Officially Plugged In from the beginning of its creation. Trey sent me a peek at his new book “Power Lines in the Rain” which I enjoyed reading. I thought with all that he has going on, that it was time to talk with him a bit…

What compelled you to write a novel.. and a “love story” as the genre?

TM: I think the thing that compelled me the most was my innate desire to evoke emotions. I also wanted to show that just because a love story is the main plot; it doesn’t have to be a story to be told only to females. The story of Kevin Pryor is targeted just as much to guys as girls and I challenge anyone to argue the point. It is not only love; it is philosophy, opinion changing decisions, and the desire to be accepted as a human.

Do you plan to have this be a singular novel or will a sequel follow?

TM: I do have plans! The sequel is a bit of a twist on the first installment but I have began a book called “The Archipelago” to be published after “Power Lines in the Rain”.

Would you like to see the story created as a movie?

TM: Absolutely! I feel as if it is an image based book that I feel could be very easily adapted to a screenplay.

Tell me about your “coffee table” books.

TM: For about 2 years now, I have had tons of incredible artists send me fan art, which is displayed, in my gallery in my South Carolina home. I decided it was time to give back to the amazing talent and publish a coffee table book with shots of all of the art that has been sent my way.

Some of your modeling photos are just amazing. Since you are still active doing photo shoots, what are the most recent ones you’ve done?

TM: Most recently, I shot with Aja Bates in Atlanta. She has an eye that is perfect for film. I have another shoot coming up soon with Aja that I am very excited about! I was also fortunate enough to collaborate with Ashley James who is the founder of Jude Atl. And who is, in my opinion one of the best stylists of our generation.

What is a benefit of doing photo shoots?

TM: For me, it is so much more than updating my portfolio. It is a chance for me to try on a different emotion. I feel as if my photos tell a story and photo shoots are a way for me to hone and practice my art.

Do you have to travel far to meet up with the photographers?

TM: I have had shoots that take 20 minutes to get to set and I have had shoots that require me to fly across the nation.

How did you land the South Carolina Dept. Of Tourism ads?

TM: I landed those through my incredible agent at Directions USA in Greensboro, NC.

When will the ads be available nationally?

TM: They are currently posted in airports and malls!

Are you currently working on any new films?

TM: Right now I am in talks with a couple of projects that I’ve been told to keep hush hush but I am sure you will hear some news soon!

What other projects do you have in the works?

TM: I just did a runway show for Hanes, Ralph Lauren, Champion, and Soffee. On top of that, I have been nonstop with auditions, writing, and launching the new website! These things have all been keeping me crazy busy and without the help of my team I wouldn’t be able to handle half of it!
